The former ancient capital known as Nor Kor Phnom still bears traces of its past glory, with landmarks like the Pra Sat Chan temple standing in front of the closed Kuk Pagoda near Sam Pov Mountain in Cheung Phnom Commune. However, the halls and palace have been ravaged by war. Ba Phnom offers stunning views from its peak and harbors expansive rocky caves, serving as a refuge for wildlife. The Ba Phnom pagoda, nestled in the mountain’s valley, is surrounded by a range of hills and a large pond to the east. The area around the mountain is dotted with local residences. Plans are underway to develop Ba Phnom into a major tourist destination on the eastern banks of the Mekong River, leveraging its allure during Cambodian festivals and holidays.
